Cracking Good Food launches its 2011 programme

The Chorlton based cookery network Cracking Good Food has announced the next round of Cracking Good classes for the public, running between 15 January and 15 February.

The network encourages more home cooking through hands-on classes for paying members of the public, funded workshops for community-based groups plus pop-up Cooks On The Hop sessions at local events.

Adele Jordan of Cracking Good Food, now a social enterprise and a year old, says: “The support and demand for cooking sessions has been astounding. People really enjoy getting stuck into good food when they’re shown what to do, and it’s so social too!”

Funded by the Local Food Fund (National Lottery) and The Co-operative Membership, Cracking Good Food classes cost just £20 (or £15 for the unemployed, students or over 65s) for three hours of prepping, cooking and eating. The new Saturday classes run between 11am and 2pm while the Tuesday classes take place 6pm to 9pm, all at Chorlton High School on Nell Lane.

Places are limited to 12 so everyone has the chance to get hands-on and ask plenty of questions. The ingredients we use are seasonal, organic and fairtrade where possible, and bought from Chorlton’s great independent retailers.
