Elbow pouring the pints at Manchester’s Food and Drink festival

Manchester band Elbow will pour the first pints of their new ‘build a rocket boys!’ beer today at Robinson’s Pop Up Pub on the Square, in Albert Square, Manchester as part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

The beer was developed after a series of tastings at Robinsons Brewery in Stockport, a stone’s throw from Elbow’s Manchester heartland. Band members sampled a range of Robinsons’ ales to shortlist their preferred style of beer, taste and colour before deciding on a golden ale with a rich rounded body, smooth bitterness, subtle tang of malt and fruity aroma. Elbow’s ale is a golden premium session bitter at 4.0% ABV, available in cask and bottle.

The beer will be on sale in the Pub on the Square from 13th – 16th November as part of the Festival, alongside the full range of Robinson’s real ales including their award winning ‘Old Tom’.

John Robinson, Brand Manager at Robinsons Brewery comments: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming the boys to our special Festival venue, it’s a great way to officially launch the beer. “
